5 months old!

Oh my goodness!
My baby is 5 months old.
It has just flown by.
You weigh 14 lbs and wear size 2 diapers. We are fitting you in some 3 months clothes, but mostly 6 months now. We have a growing boy! It makes me sad to think about how fast time is going, but then I see how much more you are interacting and playing and it makes me so happy. You totally loves your momma and smile so big every time dad gets home. You will laugh for ever when Justin plays with you. You is really starting to recognize people and has his favorites for sure. Every morning when I take him to school, he sees the ladies in his class and just starts smiling. He tends to need alot of attention, but we know where that comes from. When I go check on him throughout the day they will have your seat or swing facing the teachers and they will be singing you songs. As long as someone is talking to you, you're great, but dont you dare stop talking to me! You have developed a huge interest in big kids too, like your older cousin!

You are getting better and better at eating rice cereal/ oatmeal and the other day his daily sheet said "lunch"! You eat rice twice a day and does great. We are no longer sitting still or staying where we place you. You are starting to sit up for a couple seconds at a time and are getting sturdier doing so. You roll all over the place, but really want to crawl. You stick your little booty in the air and fusses acting like you need help. You just cant get those arms to push up yet. You are so close to getting a tooth, you can see it, and hear it at night when you quit sleeping through the night... ha!
Look at that boy try to crawl!

You are still a great traveler! We took a trip to Silver Dollar City for a weekend with Dee Dee and G-Daddy and had a blast. We love taking you places like the zoo and pumpkin patch. You have had several colds, but for the most part are a healthy kid. You have missed catching all of the bugs that your mom has had which has been great for us, but not your mom. We are having to work really hard to slow down some!!
Your favorite toy... blankets, but you have really started to play with more toys too. So maybe you're like your momma and would prefer to stay in bed all day! You just loves brooks and presely and will stick out those cute fingers to pet them when they get close or wants them to lick your hands and feet and will just laugh. You love your new exersaucer and playing on the ground.

We just love you so much and love watching you grow!

Here we go again!!!

I might be the worst blogger EVER!
I really love reading others, but I am just no good at doing my own. I never have the time. Or by the time I think about it again I think its been a month (or a year, but who's keeping track) since I last wrote a thing... whats the point?!?!

Well there is a new point....This guy!
I really want to remember all the little details and funny things that happen. Or get to look back at the videos and such. So although it maybe a little late or not much, Something at sometime is better than nothing... thats what they say right?!?
Plus I have more time than I would like sitting at my desk with this lovely machine called a pump... boo! Might as well make myself useful! So here goes something.....

TO BE CONTINUED......

happy turkey weekend!

What made my long weekend great?!?!
Good food, great family, quality time with my husband and dogs during our driving time, a little break from work, black friday shopping and this........
Our black Friday gift to ourselves. The newest member of the Simpson household is welcomed with loving arms. Too bad we had no idea how filthy our life had been until this bad boy made an appearance. Hopefully it will help my asthma and allergies and encourage justin to become motivated to vacuum!

Happy holiday cleaning!

New things!

Justin and I have been looking for a chair that we loved for the past 2 months! We looked EVERYWHERE in Memphis and LR. The hardest part was finding something we both agreed on. Finally..... we have a sneak peak of what it will look like. We ordered it, which makes me nervous because we havent seen it in person. OH WELL too late to get worried now. We should get to see our beautiful new chair in 3 weeks.
I also got a little crafty today and made pillows. I got the fabirc at Hobby Lobby and it was 30 % off. Then I had a coupon and got another 40% off. I was thrilled. I now have some fabric left over and I am deciding if I should do anything else with it?!?!

One!!!

My nephew is turing One!! I can't believe it! I need help. What do you get a one year old for his birthday?? A cardboard box???

Perfect Day-cation!

I got the best birthday present ever! I got a Day of everything I wanted to do... Which started out with a trip to the dog park and to his grandparents for breakfast. Then we spent Hours chair shopping.... (we still have no chair). We arent picky we just cant find anything we love or agree on. Were going shopping all day Saturday in LR until we find one... we shall see.

ANYWHO... Justin got us tickets to the Orpheum in Memphis to see Wicked on Halloween Eve! I was sooo excited. I felt like it was christmas. I am pretty sure at one point he told me he would never take me on a date again if I acted that excited again! We went to eat at The Majestic for dinner thanks to a recommendation from a good friend. It was wonderful. then we walked around downtown Memphis (which we never do). We went to the Peabody and Beale Street.
Wicked was wonderful as I am sure anyone who has seen it will agree. We had wonderful seats on the inside 7th row with no one in front of us. And yes I did cry when it was over!!!! I told him we need to have more Day-Cations that are all about me!!!

Projects!!

I have been wanting to paint our front door for a long time, but couldn't decide on what to do. I went back and forth, but it all came down to I wanted a new wood door!! Well that wasn't in the budget, but paint was!!! I did a little research on ehow and youtube on how to become a pro faux wood grain painter! I am a far cry from that, but here is how it turned out!
I first painted a base coat that was suppose to be a golden wood undertone and then let it dry for 24 hours.
I then got a sample jar of darker paint and mixed it with a glaze (5 parts glaze to one part paint). I applied it with a paint brush and then went over it with a rocking wood grain tool.
I was pretty impressed with how it turned out and it was far better than our old white door. it is so inviting and I just love it.
I told Justin the garage door is next!!!
